While I didn't love the songs (dope but not comparable with his previous street singles), Kanye is really in it trying his all to keep it super hiphop, keep it real, fresh and creative. That alone should give him respect. Dudes have too many bytch tendencies though, too much Kim Kardashian, tmz talk when it comes to Kanye's haters these days. There's not been a single rapper since andre 3 stacks taking nearly the risks Kanye takes with every album. So even if they all get 5 mic, there's still a bunch of butthurt dudes saying I miss the old Kanye, cause he challenges his creativity with every project.

it's kanye west, i don't have to hear the albums to hear 5 or 6 joints off of the albums on the radio.. none of kanye's music sounds like the norm, same with nas, i can't really say that for any other current rapper out there in the mainstream, everything else sounds recycled.

The radio usually plays 2 very (relatively) average glossy joints of the album + one street single. Which means that you've missed at least 70% of his dopest shyt.




Never heard of a hiphop fan who hasn't heard a Kanye West album, and yet says that he's better than everyone else except nas.
And it's nothing like your quote, where one can blame illmatic initially being a commercial flop. Kanye's albums were all blockbusters.

well, that would probably be because i'm not a hip hop fan sir, i gave up on rap as a whole in like 2005. i am a Nas fan, that's about it, and Lupe, no one else moves me, i will always check for Eminem's new shyt too. i never liked kanye west, because like so many i was judging him based on his image and not his art, thats why i never fukked with his albums, but i always felt like he was a genius musically. when kanye drops an album hot 97 plays at least 5 joints, easy, its always an event. whenever i hear his shyt it always sounds nothing like the other 99% of shyt they just played, even the shyt that isn't socially conscious or thought provoking stands alone, i always respected that and always will.
