:ohword: That's not what I'm talking about. It's one thing to talk about music, it's another to hyperbolize just about everything Kanye does.

It was a cool video but it was pretentious as fukk. It just seems like none of Kanye's shyt nowadays is organic, it just comes off as forced and hollow to me. It was just ridiculously over done for the sake of "art". I get what he's going for, but it just feels forced to me.

I don't read music reviews or reviews on creative works of any kind at all; on that front, I'm indifferent.
I don't get what's forced or pretentious with the video.
It had all the normal hiphop things bad bytches dancing, celebration, ill cars but more than that all these things had a meaning. But mostly the thing was about shooting a video with dope colors. Like the white servant and only black people feasting, was about the colors not some inverted 19th century dream that might fukk with someones mind.

You'd rather see mad guns, bad bytches awkwardly dancing among rappers and dollar flying from the air ha?

:skip: No, I could care less. It's not that I hated the video, it was cool, but it was just art for the sake of art, which is fine. It was purposely done to be a bombardment of colors and textures—it was gorgeous. However, I just found people's responses to the film to be amusing.

I'm not saying the music lacked a message, EVERYTHING to a seemingly inane trap rapper video shot in a basement has a message. Every single song, no matter how flowery, no matter how ignorant it seems has a message.

Different artists articulate these messages differently. Some dress it up a lot, and others might not give a fukk about beautifying it whatsoever. Frankly, I could care less, but when I see something, I can't help but feel a certain way about it.

I just find it amusing when people deify certain people and their works, that's all.

My original message was more me finding other people's over-reactions and exaggerations hilarious more than anything else.

I like Kanye a lot, and I personally love his music, and I like how he switches it up every album cycle, but I'm not going to ignore the ridiculous shyt people say about him, and I'm especially not going to deify him for some reason like so many hip-hop fans attempt to do.

Human beings are imperfect in their hypocrisy and contradictions, everyone of us.

The sh1t was dope on SNL and did exactly what he wanted it to do.

His album will more than likely raise most music-conscious eyebrows.

Most people on SOHH and The Coli who talk too much want people to fail. The same people said GKMC was not a modern hip hop masterpiece, which it unequivocally is.

Stop judging artists by ancillary factors in their lives (such as dating Kim) that prevent you from focusing on the art. It's effeminate and wack.

That is all.

kanye west out here changing the game, while everybody else is doing exactly the same shyt over and over and over and over and over.. same flows, same bars, same subject matter, same beats, disgusting. nas and kanye >>>>>>> everybody else. this will be the first kanye west album i am gonna listen to since the one with "Living A Movie" on it, which one was that? might not have even been an album

these writers are going overboard, but this is very true though.

liberal caacs love nothing more than performing revolutionary black men. they all loved malcolm, for the wrong reasons. same with PE. dope music, but caacs got the wrong message from these groups and people. Malcolm and PE deeply cared about black people, young caccs just love the "stick it to the man" rebeliousness. their white privelage allows them to enjoy both worlds. they love this rebellious isht. it helps them through their adolescent and young adult years, by the time they hit 40 they cash in their wihite privelage and become republicans.

if they really cared, all these caac music critics would give up their jobs and let strugling black writers in. lets see how real their commitment is.
