I'm disgusted but I can't be surprised. Cable companies are killing themselves. It's a model that won't continue. They need to recognize that and start attempting to make drastic changes or sell and get out.

Damn clowns haven't learned from the music industry yet.

well in case you guys haven't noticed, ads are becoming more and more prevalent with on demand content as well.

try streaming a video off any mainstream site (youtube, yahoo, etc) and see how many times it goes straight to video. these days it's not often.

and it's only gonna get worse. it started as maybe a 15 second ad you could skip, now sometimes you get like a 30-40 second ad that you CAN'T skip. and as streaming becomes the norm, of course the ad companies are gonna look to make up that revenue. so whose to say in 5 years we won't have 4-5 minute long ad breaks just like we have now.

Sports though. That is still a major reason to have cable for me. I didn't have cable for like 6 weeks a couple years ago, it was torture.

for me, sports is damn near the only thing I watch live. and maybe the news. but typically, I'm watching movies I download or stream on youtubeonfire, netflix, or amazon prime. I don't have the time or patience for all those commercials. I'm basically using my PS3 as my DVR.

but when it comes to sports, I just love some NBA and NFL tho.

they're gonna learn, and their day of reckoning is coming. and when they really start trying to enforce those data caps on the internet, more ISP's will pop out the woodwork to take their customers like google fiber.

I have noticed this as well. but I watch most of my youtube on my tv, and when I hit the icon to make it stream to the TV on my iphone, for some reason, it automatically skips the commercials :win:......at least for now.
