So your saying they're taking supplements? But that's not the same as PED's. Supplements are not banned by these sports the PED's are. If you tell me these athletes are taking supplements that are giving them vitamins that gives them more energy then I'll agree with you on that. But if you're implying that all the dominant athletes in every sport is taking PED's then I have to call your bullshyt becuz I refuse to believe that just becuz certain athletes dominant their dirty.
That goes to my mental toughness thing I was speaking about. Some athletes like a Sharapova knows she's good she can beat most of the woman she faces. But Serena dominates Sharapova becuz of the mental advantage Serena has over her from 17 straight wins. When you are in competition and are good you acknowledge that you have equals. But I'm always wreary when I hear an athlete say their current peers are better than them. Kobe, Jordan, Brady, Rousey these types would never say their current competitors are better than them.
They don't let these kind of thoughts enter their mind which is why they are successful. Of course they might be surrounded by great talent as well. But in Serena and her opponents case it's just them. Serena gives credit to her opponents by saying the match will be tough or could be tough but she'll never say that Azarenka is more talented than her. When all of Serena's opponents know that Serena is better than they are. They still give their best shot and sometimes they are victorious like Sloane Stephens but they know if Serena is on her game they are going to lose.
That right there gives Serena a mental advantage in every match she plays or tournament she enters.
Again, you need to stop thinking like this with the bolded. Don't use value statements in the context of competition. It just doesn't make sense anymore.
I used the word "supplement" in a denotative sense of the word. Something that aids receovery, strength, focus, whatever.
When athletes take "supplements" that we think of in a connotative sense like whey protein, creatine, BCAAs, whatever horse shyt you wanna name, they're usually doing it for the same exact purpose. Build muscle, recover faster, compete better.
Why do athlete's usually take illegal PEDs? To build muscle, recover faster, compete better.
The only difference is that the banned shyt actually works, and it is extremely potent if it's pharmaceutical grade.
And that's only asusming we're talking about PEDs that are anabolic. Not all PEDs are anabolic.
I don't think athletes that use these banned drugs are cheating, point-blank period, because like I already explained, the leagues are fully aware most of their top athletes are using them anyway, and it's really not a big deal in most competitive circles.
Serena is great because she's just flatout better than everyone else. The drugs are only part of the formula. Even if you took them away she'd still be better. This goes for any of the other great athletes out there.
PEDs will only improve strength, recovery, and endurance in most instances, but you still have to be a world-class talent at whatever you're competing in.
Mental strength is extremely important as well, but again, it's only one component. The drugs are another component as well.
