He obviously told them the pills were something other than what they really were.
He admitted in the deposition that he acquired the pills illegally.
He admitted in the deposition that he never took the pills himself.
He admitted in the deposition that he got the pills to give to women for sex.
When he was asked whether he gave it to women without their knowledge, his lawyers stopped the deposition and refused to allow him to answer the question.
That is NOT something a lawyer for an innocent man does. That is ONLY something you do if your client is in danger of perjurying himself. You have NO other explanation than that.
