Time to see how the white boys on reddit will spin this.
"Jamir Strane, 16, says he was the student involved in the fight.
Strane says he initiated the fight with a chemistry teacher — who he and others identified as William Bennett — but believes the teacher went overboard in his response."
The student says he started the fight. Put your hands on a grown man and expect to get your ass beat. Run up and get done up. Just because someone says something you don't like doesn't mean you have the right to put your hands on them.

What we know is that we don't know. What Jamir says provoked him counts for zero. Maybe there is video from survalence cameras, but one thing is clear: the teacher is the authority in that hallway and Jamir says he hit him. The sailor talk in those high school halls could provoke anybody but it doesn't until a White guy uses it.

Expel the thug. WDRB, why make this about race? Rhetorical question, I know.

Expel the group. Jamir needs his homes out there on the street to watch his back.

Teachers are the ones that need to be held to a higher standard. He may well be expelled over this, but a teacher reaching back for a student to grab his hair and RE ENGAGE a fight isn't a man defending himself.
Once that happened any talk of self defense can get thrown out the window.

When the family uses the term PTSD that means they have already talked to a lawyer

Or a counselor. Which I suspect is more likely the case.

We already know how this is going to end. The teacher will be fired. The family will sue. JCPS will settle, and the boy and his family will get a nice big fat paycheck. Just another day in "Mayor McBikelane" paradise.

Sheer nonsense. This punk admits he initiated this, but now it's the teacher who's at fault. But then it's woke 2021, so, ambulance chasers, line up. Pathetic!

He admits to starting the physical aspect of the altercation. But did he start what provoked his action? I don't know, so I'm not taking sides on this one.

The pathetic part is the grown man grabbing at a 16 year olds hair after they have been seperated.
F****** gross.

If I'd gotten into a fight w/ my parents, I'd have hell to pay at home. Pretty sure mom and dad wouldn't have stood up in front of cameras with me.

This boy's maternal parents are to blame they raised him in a way that is allowed him to be on the street get shot. This teacher is the least of this young man's problems now he should be expelled from school if he is over 16 he should not be allowed to return

He admitted to the school, police, and public media he started a fight because of a verbal statement. Let's see how the lawyer spins that in court. I just think the kid is now upset because he got his ass handed to him by a middle-aged chemistry teacher in a sports jacket and we have it on video forever. Regards, this incident is not going to look good on his application to Harvard.

What did the teacher think was going to happen when he made this comment to a student? Did he think that it was going to motivate him to learn in his class? Both sides of this story need to take accountability of his actions.

So if someone says something that you don't like you can punch them? Is that the way you roll?

People with PTSD don't go Postal. They hide under the bed. This is a case of a white adult violating Black restrictions on free speach. Only Blacks can talk like that. I'm done with that. I am not a Dog or a MF, and I can use the vocabulary you use.

Symptoms may include nightmares or unwanted memories of the trauma, avoidance of situations that bring back memories of the trauma, heightened reactions, anxiety, or depressed mood.
Sounds like a heightened reaction to me.
Sorry, dog.

This happens more than a lot of folks think, my problem with this story is the way Chad Mills framed it. Had the teacher beem Latino, Asian or any other race would he have said "It also shows the Latino teacher launch a knee toward the Black student's face"? No, he would not have. This counrty will never get to where it needs to be if everything is framed around race, there is one race, the Human Race...this is an unfortunate clash between a student and teacher, JCPS will investigate, I am sure there are cameras in the school, they'll get to the bottom of it...

Except that it was about race. The White teacher said something that a Black teacher could have said to the Black student without incident, or the White teacher could have said it to a white student without incident. I have had it happen. One minute you are having a conversation and the next it is a brawle for having touched a nerve. In my own extended family the Whites may disagree but the other folks are going to get their way or they are going to "Kill You." It is a racial problem.

shyt was like a weekly occurrence when i was in HS.At my HS in the late 90s, the kid in blue would have bounced the teacher’s head off the lockers with punches

Kids were smart. The minute they swing on the teacher, it's expulsion.
Time to see how the white boys on reddit will spin this.
You can tell the race of commenters by their response.
White dudes calling breh "a thug" would probably say the teacher needs to be fired if this was white on white.
Remember conservatives usually hate teachers. Only time they support them is in situations like this.

How did nobody crack that teacher in the face when he wouldn’t let go of dude’s hair?
