the irony in this post and thread topic. Dubstep has been around since '03. What you're referring to wasn't dubstep...but brostep. Do the knowledge. Exact same thing as this thread except for the roles being reversed.

yea i feel ya, i know bout dubstep and brostep (skrillex, etc post 2009 shyt) and the difference, im generalizing dubstep for the majority of people who view this forum (hiphop) cuz they wont know the difference.

I respect the EDM genres, but i absolutely agree there was NO reason to steal this name. They could easily come up with a different name. In fact, even "Trapstep" is a good name to differentiate from "Trap" music.

there is GOOD EDM TRAPSTEP out there but it's so few and far between. Most of it you just KNOW its bandwagoning cacs.
I should really include that in there. Lean is such trash I have no idea why people like that uncharismatic fakkit. Come to think of it, I haven't heard of a single cac do trap beats justice unless you count Paul Wall.
