no one says that about jimi hendrix, majority of guitar players and people who play music don’t know anything about reading or writing notes . Whites consider Black Sabbath one of the greatest rock bands of all time and they didn’t know shyt about reading music. majority of music legends don’t, they just picked up an instrument and played it dude.

Miles Davis said when he went to teach Jimi about music theory he already knew everything because he picked up just by playing music. that is how practically every great musician learned. not by reading or writing music. yes, you need a basic understanding of scales and chords but most of the greatest guitarists didn’t play by the rules and went outside the confides is the groundwork that was laid before them hence why they became legends
