Ok my bad then. You assumed I was white and I assumed you troll. Well, anyways, I did come up in that freestyle era, too. But I was down south fukkin with east coast shyt hard til I moved to the DMV. Bigg K is crazy nice. I can't take anything away from that man. I remember seeing Swann battle at Scribble killin fools. As well Juice and Rhymefest. Kicked with Eyedea twice before and he was one of my homeboys good friends. Marv Won one of my personal fav. and I remember Quest more so from GT (saw the Jump Off shyt later on). I remember hearing about the Elements league, too, but didn't know much. But writtens.....in the freestyle era with some of my people we frowned upon. And then, it wasn't leagues. Just promoters or companies with events.

My history in hip hop, well, here's part of it; not much but you asked. Scroll down and you'll see my name.

Now that we got that out of the way, again, does the content need to be more regulated? I know where you're coming from. But now, that its sport with a growing fanbase, I'm asking if that's where it should go.

See, I almost didn't post about this because alot of newer (and maybe older) fans are like fukk him he was a confirmed supremacist but alot of people who knew him in person (black, white, latino, etc) has offered up a different story about the dude consistently. So, with that said, with Ron doing what he did in battles, I wanna ask this: is there truly a limit of what the fukk you can say in a battle? I'm not talking contractual agreements per battle, I mean overall. All day, most of the popular battle rappers have bars about brothas killin one another or their families, robbin them, bustin nuts on they baby momma forehead, and etc. fukkin personal info gets put out there and all that. So we get a white dude who learns how to rap, has a drug habit, clearly dealt with some issues in his life, homeless, joins gangs, went to prison, coined as a racist, and takes on that role battle rap. I'm asking this because, we all enjoy this gun/drug/street/pimp shyt but, when someone of a different race is crazy disrespectful, in a sport (technically it is) where there's no commission to regulate what can be said and not (I'm taking the league out of this for now), is there a limit?
To me the only limit is my own discomfort. Some of the shyt he would say was cringeworthy because it was over the top and not done in the illest way. Based on his interviews I never thought he was truly racist. He just played up the whole cali peckerwood prison persona for "entertainment" and controversy. Dude was supposedly sober for the past year or two so it sounds like he relapsed. It's hard to imagine that that Holloween Virus fiasco didn't contribute to it. That shyt went kind of viral I think smh

I wonder what Diz and Daylyt gotta say about that, too. It just happened so I'm not sure if they've been quiet or what's been going on.

I agree with this post. It was a gimmick and a damn good one. The difference to me is, how well the lines are crafted. This wasnt the case of just saying racist shyt and barely rhyming it. They were inventive ways of insults, which gives it more of an artistic feel so to speak. Also, b/c i really dont excuse or cape isms, I very carefully listened to his interviews and other stuff and was convinced this largely wasnt the case. I heard his interview on the whole blackface incident, it did seem like he genuinely got trolled by daylyt (who seems like he may or may not have trolled him again in that epic tribute song).

He didnt shoot up heroin, it was glucose. Shock value

Always
Fresh out of high school my boys and I wanted to rap. I was heavy into freestyling. Naturally I gravitated towards Project Blowed. I went to Tourettes Without Regrets to battle and push my music because I knew a lot of PB cats attended.

This is how I got the opportunity to meet Caddie Ron. I'm at Battle Of The Bay. Rolling a chop ass purple blunt in the venue. I see Ron and some Chino looking white guy with him. Ron is eying the tables I'm standing on. To see the battle I stacked two tables on each other. He wanted a table to stand on. I get kicked out the venue for rolling a blunt. The promoter let's me back in because he knows me. Ron is stealing my tables so I confront him. I'm five deep. He's two deep. I got the vibe he was ready to go hard for those tables lol.

Ron wasn't a sucka. And he wasn't racist. we kicked it on a mattress in the Oakland streets and drank whiskey. All my friends were AA and Hispanic. He was a well rounded MC and thorough as fukk. He's the GG Allen of West Coast Art Rap.
