Almost entirely driven by one team and one player though. Same with their ticket sales at games. That's not sustainable or worth betting on IMO but clearly someone will do it.

It certainly is sustainable and worth betting on. Even while CC was in college the ratings were increasing because of the increasing interest in the game. Now that shes in the WNBA, ratings are up across the board as new viewers become exposed to the game and teams. They 100% can go it alone in media rights now and theres more up and coming talent that are big draws in the pipeline (JuJu). On the current deal they are projected to make their first proft as a league, if they didnt have to break off a piece to the NBA theyd be caking up

The time of the NBA needing to support the WNBA is over now, its off the training wheels, and now that its getting more money itll be able to support itself further and make the product even better.

You’re 100% right. WNBA has more marketable young stars than the NBA does. Thats a fact. Between Clark, Reese, Brink, Paige, and coming players like Juju and Flujae, there’s various backgrounds and various levels of conventional attractiveness while all being American. That means every bball fan has someone they like and gravitate to one way or another.
