You can practice wrapping up and being In proper position without actually throwing someone to the ground

Tackling not really a skill anyway

How do you find out who can break tackles on the offensive side of the ball and who can finish tackles on the defensive side? These mistakes can be cleaned up in a live speed practice where you have a skilled/physical ball carrier trying to juke/over power the shyt out of a defender. If you save this for the game, dudes gonna make mistakes and get embarrassed. Even USC admitted there was a big dropoff in the quality of their play because they had to reduce tackling and contact in practice due to the scholarship sanctions.

That USC shyt is just deflecting the blame

They didn't have the same quality of players because if sanctions

U fukkin mango, shut the fukk up.

Freshmen and Sophomores need to tackle. They'll be shook as hell in gms.
This.

You can tell who played football and who didn't.

Pop Warner I had to get lit up a couples of times to shake them butterflies out, after that, I didn't like getting hit, so I did the hitting. Sometimes you gotta get punched in the face before you'll fight. The more we hit, the better I got. By the time I got to Varsity, I was laying WRs out despite only weighin a buck 50. I had more experience since a lot of those guys just started football in JV, while I had 3 years more experience. I had spear techniques down, I knew how to hit helmet to helmet without injuring myself but hurting them. I knew where to hit when the WR jumped (I played FS) I was terrorizing nikkas and I wasnt even big, I just knew where and when to hit :pachaha:

In retrospect I was kind of a dirty player, I wasn't no John Lynch, but I knew how to chop ankles, spear nikkas knees, flip nikkas that leaped. I was bad. All this was from trial and error in practice. I wasn't big so I had to make up with figuring out the dynamics. I didn't even wrap up that much, I just knew where to hit to make a nikka fly.

USC still had elite talent breh, some of the best players in all of college football. There's no question that their talent underperformed.

What's your expertise in Football may I ask? I've never heard a coach below the NFL level advocate such nonsense nor an elite program that doesn't tackle in practice.

Of course coaches wouldn't endorse this. They have an ulterior motive and most think in antiquated ways

USC was 3rd in total defense in the PAC 12 last year

I don't know about ya'll but for me. Tackling in practice didn't help me. My mentality in the game was just 1000x more intense, although I never suffered any major injuries any tackling related injuries for me always happened in practice (minor shoulder and bicep injuries).

Tackling full speed in every practice is not necessary at all.

For us we did most of our conditioning and tackling during 2 a days. During the season we didn't really tackle as much during practice. And defensively and tackling wise we were just fine

:ehh:Surprisingly I have no issue with this.

Coaches know how to get around things like this and get their players ready for games.

Bet it will still be plenty of contact during the week before games. Butting up during drills, form drills, etc

Full out tackling during practice doesn't really take place on most HS or College teams anymore anyway.

breh, have you played football? If you do not hit during the week you are going to be soft as butter on game day. I'm speaking from the defensive side of the ball cause I was primarily on that side but you cannot just show up on game days and think you gonna lay the wood.
I know we're not talking about the NFL but the bill Walsh 49ers never hit during the season at practice.
