There is no hope in the Bay Area, and the central valley is turning blue now too because of the Bay Area exodus.
But deep central valley still remains a red zone.
Even in non-partisan positions, being a republican is basically a death sentence. I worked for the republican party, and we basically endorsed moderate democrats. Many of the Republican chairs and other organizers out here are actually Indian or Filipino, even some Chinese and Hispanics. Vast majority were still white.
Overall it's a hopeless situation.
I was involved for a long-time, but whats the point? We just keep losing? They also want to shift everything to the left to appeal to lefties. I don't want any part of it.
All the conservatives are slowly moving either to the central valley or outside of California. While liberals from all over the country continue to flood the major cities out there. Chinese immigrants are also highly liberal. The only hope for the republicans is the growing Indian population. They are the only non-whites who vote for Republicans in a percentage that is not somehow meaningless.
Half of the state is Mexican now. Republicans tried to cater to hispanics, but all that work has been thrown at the window due to Trump.

LA weather is trash unless you're on the Westside, which is just as expensive as Silicon Valley. I'll take the seasons. It's been 90+ degrees for 6 fukking months here.
And I'm renting my house out here for 4k while my rent there will be less than that. And I'll have a yard.
There are so many terrible things about LA... too hot, too superficial, too much traffic, too much crime, too many homeless people, too many tourists, too little space, too few suburbs, too rundown, too few startups, too much flakiness and on and on and on.
I don't give a shyt about SV prices. I'll be a millionaire in 5 years or less.

Republicans fukked themselves out of California like they're doing with Texas. The more people move to a state the more diverse it becomes. More diversity usually helps turn a state blue during elections.
