Pull Up the Roots
Breakfast for dinner.
You're absolutely correct. I just think it's odd how only one receives this much attention and in such a sensationalized way, especially when the problem is exaggerated.I think two things can be true.
I think first time offenders can be minor, but after three, it’s habitual and a felony.
To address your query, how do you hold a business or corporation accountable outside of fines? Penalties for white collar crimes should be more punitive.
I somewhat agree with this too. I mean, I don't really support people stealing like that. And I do think multi-time offenders should be held accountable. Honestly, I just don't have the energy to care too much about retail theft. I just don't see it as that big of an issues to dominate news cycles they way it does. And it's often a side-effect of issues we refuse to address as a country.
Criminal prosecution for violations of workers rights and systemic wage theft should be enforced as strongly as any other form of theft. Right now, it's not. Also fines should be made to recover the full amount of the stolen wages, and not just a small percentage.
