The teen in a matter of a second could take the gun away from his head and shoot the cop, his mother, or anyone else in the area.

I can understand that but pulling the gun out on him wasn't going to help the situation and as an officer he should have the people's safety in mind firstt, it seems everyone's forgot that
they serve us and our best interest (at least they're supposed to)

The kid had just killed someone else in cold blood THAT SAME DAY. If he pulls out a gun aiming it at his head how do i know it's not a ruse for me to let me guard down and then shoot me?

I served 6 years in the military and i remember in boot camp my drill sergeant said "always keep your guard up because regardless of why you're at war it all comes down to one thing: It's either you or them. Because neither you or that enemy soldier declared that war you are fighting. You may not even agree with the war. But some elected buffoon in some office declares war and YOU are the one out here fighting it with military equipment made by the lowest bidder. And all you wanna do is make it back home to your family in one piece."
My point is all that "they serve us" crap sounds nice but when guns are drawn it all goes out the window. Im not condoning officers to shoot recklessly but when in doubt im having my gun out and ready
