This article definitely puts things in perspective about his opinions from last year to this year.

What really matters though are his efforts off the field and how he can make contributions to the RIGHT organizations and African American families who need it.

I still got faith my boy took a hit pubically to make a change where it really matters.
If he loses the publicity game...but wins the streets/neighborhoods with his actions....then all is good..

Yes he is and we all know that shyt. Folks also have to understand that he is being extra with it IMO because of his football position, where he plays (the city and state) and his owner (which trickles down to how he is protected by players and his coach).

We all know Vick got away with shyt black QBs couldn't cause he was in Atlanta with a huge black following and power structure in that city.

We also know there were certain things McNabb could say when it came to race because his coach and owner were more open about certain issues. You even saw how they came to his defense when it came to Rush Limbaugh.

Take a look how in Minnesota Denny Green addressed racism when dealing with folks and the media. How he always backed his black QBs and players. Even look how Mike Tice who was a assistant coach under Denny protected Culpepper after Tice became the head coach.

Tice spoke to the media how Culpepper was getting hate mail and death threats because he was a black QB and some fans didn't want him as the starting QB. Tice also mentioned how these fans needed to be called out because it was racist and wrong what they were doing. Then tice said that Culpepper is the starting QB because he was/is a great player and a great teamate.

Now Tice didn't have to say this shyt. He could have been an ass and let culpepper deal with this onslaught himself. But Tice was a real leader and was like naw I got your back when it comes to this shyt.

Now in saying all of that we all can say Cam is soft shoeing and a coward. But we can also say there are a lot of cowards on that team, in that team office, on that coaching staff and on all the way up to the owner for never really truly standing with Cam or helping him over these last few months.

My last case in point. They did a interview with McNair....the ravens sent Ray Lewis with him for the interview. The media always playing these horse and pony shows ask McNair was it racism that the Titans locked him out the training facility and traded him after giving them some great years.

Ray Lewis stepped in and was like you not about to ask him that question. Dude the QB and face of the team....you setting him up. Ray was like McNair can't answer that question truthfully, but I can.......you darn right it was racism and the titans would have never treated him like that if he was a white QB.

Rewind the situation 7 years earlier after Ray faced murder charges. Ray was doing interviews and the media was doing the normal catch a black person slipping interview with gotcha questions about the night club murder....Shannon Sharpe steps in during the interview/press conference and is like naw y'all ain't gonna do that here. I will speak for Ray.

Now you see what I mean by support?

Now Ray out here c00ning on FS1.:scusthov:..and Shannon still repping to the fullest..:ahh: If Yall' dun bring this Rep button back...I swear to christ...:wow:

Part of the shift has to do with GOP pollster and PR advisor Frank Luntz. Luntz has worked with the Panthers before—Deadspin outlined some of his work with them and Cam Newton in a piece from 2014, which included, as the article says, “a campaign to enhance the image of several players and the organization.” He was called in (by whom is unclear) this off-season to help Newton frame discussions on race among other topics, according to people close to Newton. Luntz, who declined comment on this story through a spokeswoman, is often credited with prompting the phrase “climate change” rather than global warming and helping Newt Gingrich with his 1990s “Contract With America.”

:wow:

They saw Cam's potential for impact and influence on the Black youth and figured they needed to do something about it. I wonder how many Black celebrities have gotten these type of "publicists" sit downs..

This post by the breh almost made me make another thread about something similar (with an iconic athlete)...It especially fits with whats going on today.

I don't think I can make the thread brehs :sadcam::sadcam::sadcam::mjcry::mjcry:

The breh @Originalman needs to write his own book about black QBs. The same way Bill Rhoden did.
