Once again, how many black men have recently been shot while walking to work, or on their way to school, or pickup up their kids?

What's the point of asking questions if you don't care about the answers?
The man shot in Tulsa was leaving class.

He wasn't leaving a strip club, or a meeting with his plug, or whatever else stereotypes you have floating around in your head because you don't actually interact with black people in real life

He's right, but it's two separate conversations.

To me cops, the people are supposed to protect you, is the bigger problem. Although, they only kill one tenth of the blacks that black people kill if we're going by stats...I'm more afraid of cops than nikkas...and I grew up in one of the most violent neighborhoods in the country. Generally if you're not involved in the drug game, gang life, or dealing with a crazy ass chick, you can skate through life not worrying about being murdered by another black person.

The police is a different story...

I didn't know the crime rate in the Black Community had to be 0% and the College enrollment and graduation rate had to be 100% for us to demand JUSTICE.

Why are black people the ONLY group whose bad apples get brought up when we are asking for change?

White people are OD'ing on Heroin in outrageous numbers, shooting up any and every place, and have an overall history of crazy ( Serial killers, cult leaders, etc,.) but they..

you know what, i'm OUT.
Talk that talk!

Has anyone answered how low the crime rate has to be before black people can protest funding their own oppression?
You can do both. I think people fukk up in thinking it's an either or situation.

I agree with those who said the biggest sin here is the juxtaposition setup by cam and the time it was mentioned. That is the problem. Police brutality and overstepping, not just shooting but acting hostile in day to day interactions , still deserves to be called out.

At the same time even on this board while people say that they are interested in a conversation about crime in the black community sometimes , not only when discussed in the same discussion as police brutality, it seems there are a minority of people who are zealots to the point that you can only talk about it in terms they deem appropriate up to a point. I'm not talking about mimicking white surpremacist talking points but at the same time not mince or sugar coating the issue either. There are some people who like to throw out the word c00n at a drop of a hat to essentially bully people back behind an arbitrarily line they think they've crossed. This is a subjective actions so I wouldn't say this is a generalization but I do see this behavior from time to time and its frustrating.

Also dislike calling for people to be banned when you disagree with them unless they are clearly stirring shyt up or trolling.

Why oh why won't the false equivalences and intentional obtuseness stop? :why:

If a person engages in cutting, we aren't gonna say they need to address their own issues or "not be a hypocrite" if they pursue prosecution for a person that assaulted them. It's not on them to address their issues before they can be treated like a person. If a person has diabetes and high blood pressure and doesn't take proper care of themselves it's not on them to get "their house in order" before they accuse a negligent doctor of malpractice. It's funny how "victim blaming" has become such a buzzword but no one seems to want to call it out when it is most appropriate.

Black folks didn't just magically appear in the hood. We don't manufacture guns. We didn't bring the drugs in. We didn't chose shytty schools systems. We didn't destroy the civil rights orgs that were striving to make things better thusly leaving angry, rudderless young people to create gangs. We didn't take the jobs away and then create more punitive drug laws. You put any other group of people in our boat and they would have the same issues. You can't savagely beat and mental abuse a kid for their whole life and then try to point the finger at them when they display the pathology that comes as a result of being treated in that way.

I'm not seein the hypocrisy, MOST black people are not criminals. MOST of us are not gangbangers. A law abiding citizen of the United States demanding justice and equal treatent from law enforcement is not hypocritical, it's common sense.

Look at Tulsa, in what way does the African American community bare responsibility for that white woman killing that brother while his hands were up?

A white woman who had at least 3 other officers with her, a gun, and a damn helicopter.....what could we the black community have done to stop her from killing an unarmed man who had his hands in the air??

At what point does the dominant society address it's own issues instead of always deflecting them back on us?

I believe Cam is a good brother at heart, but like alot of us them dollar signs got him out here trying to straddle the fence on an issue where there is no middle ground. If ur not gonna speak that real, which we KNOW u can see Cam, then just shut the hell up and go make ur millions.
