The media's is there to hype you up for a good story, then tear you down for THE story. They're vultures, and will take anything you say to fit the context and narrative they want.

It is the best strategy...You meet the NFL's standards of talking to the media without getting fined, and you don't give these professional gossipers a chance to insinuate and sensationalize hearsay...

If I was a professional athlete that's exactly how I would talk to the media...Repeat a neutral response...That gives them nothing to write about...

And live a clean and scandal free life...
