i'm still proud of his initial statements...he said what he said. he wanted to bring awareness to the matter, he did that.
now he dosent want to talk about it any more. he's move on. the media is'nt tryna have a discussion about race. they just want new sound bites to dig at, and misconstrue . Killa wants to focus on the super bowl . let killa do that.

I agree.. It had to be said.. But in the same token thats the exact same reason that you can't " just talk about it" and just say something as provocative as "Some people are scared because of my skin color" And just not say anything else at all ...

From here on out the lesson need to be "don't bring up race at all.. but its a loaded subject that no athlete is going to ever be able to articulate correctly to the mass population of the country..

Cam is coo.. but Marshawn's 'shout out to my african' stuff last few years seemed more authentic

Marshawn shouted out he "real Africans" but seriously.. Where did this even get us in totality.. or did it only serve to divide people more and more .. Its sounded cool in the moment but long term it doesn't even begin move the needle on race relations in this country

This isn't a 180. Cam, just like Rg3 who said the same thing, are right. They SHOULD be measured for all things other than simply being black because those other things ARE bigger. Yet white folks and their cism make that an impossibility.
This is my takeaway, stop qualifying their qb'ing by skin color, they QB like every other person QB's

Not a damn thing wrong with what he said.....just like RG3. :mjpls:

But is he not getting an excessive amount of hate for doing the same thing as his white counterparts? He is right in a sense that they should be measured for everything else but he like RGIII can't just pretend to ignore being a black QB in this league. His initial statement was on point.

I get he probably don't want to talk about it anymore but it just seem like he is just cleaning up what he said instead of standing by them while respectfully asking the media to move on.

What else is he supposed to say? He isn't Ali where he's expressing his feelings because it was tied to a greater punishment with him declining to be drafted. It wasn't anchored to anything else.

Telling it like it is is simply telling it like it is. I don't get why further explanation is needed. He again said in this video that he said what he said.

Marshawn would never do this type of 180.

I'm not hating on Cam though but I knew he wasn't this huge militant for the black cause like folks on here want to portray him. He changed up his words as soon as the heat got on him. He wants to be the face of the NFL and he knows he gonna have to soften his image up by saying shyt like this.

" Saying shout out to my Africans" is not something that going to galvanize change for how black athletes or black people are treated.. WTF are y'all smoking, or do you just like hearing that"rah rah shyt that amounts to a bunch of nothing at the end of the day

you lost me here. Where is he pretending to ignore anything? :dahell: he's acknowledging that they are viewed as something "other" aka "black qbs" when saying they should be measured by something bigger.

They're in full acknowledgment addressing how they are labeled. There's not a shred of pretend here. :mindblown:

Cam said what he had to say. at times you have to speak up for your self. Cam did that. Case closed. There's a reason Cam said what he said, so it was necessary. PPl are gonna catch feelings fukk them. they're catching feelings that he's dancing...
idk if you're blk or not, but Cam is a by product of ppl standing up and speaking out. if they didn't, then there wouldn't of been a cam newton, or a ray lewis who's in your avi.

Can't really do anything when other players came out and criticized him instead of backing him, was probably forced into doing this to get the attention away

I bet money Jim Nantz is still going to bring up the original quote in the broadcast some how some way..

And when it happens, that how you know the media is doing this shyt on purpose to divide people.. Its has absolutely nothing to do with anything.. Hes not the first black quarterback to do this.. RW was just there last year

Never read that RG3 quote until now

So my question is What exactly did he say that was wrong? Why does that quote make him a c00n or cornball? :jbhmm:
RG3 even went as far as saying "they labeled Doug Williams a running qb when he wasn't one!"

He didn't have MVP, or super bowl qb capital when he made those statements, yet he was the cornball brother that now Cam is basically repeating.

Niqqas on this site are into the packaging of nikkas, not words.

Being Jamaican forgoes blackness somehow? I'm Nigerian...am I not black? :dahell:
Come on Fam of course Im black... I was only being more specific because I understand how my stance on things is not 100% in line with how AA view things..
Has nothing to do with me denying being black ...I've never in my life said anything close to that
