I don’t care what he was labeled. Marbs wasn’t a black hole like Cam an averaged eight assists a game. fukk a label.
The way I see it, most NBA guys are judged by their average day, not their greatest days.
Cam on his greatest, seldom seen, days is giving you 40 with high efficiency and no defense
Cam on his good days giving you 25 with average efficiency and no defense again
Cam on his average days is giving you 20 with low efficiency and no defense
Now he's still young, only 24, and has basically only played in a worthless team. But as of today there's not a lot of room for such a player in a starting 5.
He works best like the main attraction and he's not good enough to be a main attraction. To be a role player, they will require higher efficiency, better positioning and better defense.
Like you can't just emulate prime Harden and not be Harden.

Thomas has to be on a team that is absurdly defensively sound. He wouldve been perfect for those Grizzlies teams backing up Conley.

He’s a coming off the bench player. That’s too much of an ass for teams to make up for his defensive liabilities. And he’s a black hole.
He needs to be used like a Malik Monk. Elevate your bench scoring, you can let him cook if he's hot on any particular night.
