I don't watch much anymore but when I do catch stuff here and there, one of the things that jumps out at me is how different the camera shooting style is nowadays. A lot of quick zooms, close ups and general and just all around dizzying camera work.

Am I the only one that finds it fukking annoying? I imagine they do it to make the action seem even more chaotic, ala Hollywood... but the moves are impressive enough without fukkery camera work and I want to be able to digest it more.

I don't know if it's a generation thing but you tend to notice more audible calls with the close ups in the modern product too, which is something I despise.

Yeah..the camera work is always fukked on Raw. I don't really go after it like I should but there are PLENTY of wack ass camera deals. They've missed finishes and finishers being hit...just horrible but you can hear Cole's wack ass just speak over it all and that's the fukking worse.

I've started noticing this too. I remember ECW did this a lot back in the day where the cameras in the WWF and WCW just followed the action regularly.

Maybe that's why they look at ECW as a "innovative product".

There's a time and a place for frantic camera work. In can be effective in small doses, like back when The Shield first started doing their run-ins and beatdowns.

But it's only effective if it's rare. You're right, they do it way too much now. They're overselling. They can't be acting like everything on the show is frantic.

ECW did it because they were broke and needed a way to make their product stand out. I don't know what the fukk WWE has been doing lately. They miss a bunch of spots and finishes. I wonder if it has to do with the budget cuts or if they are trying something new.

If they want something new they need to change up the format of the show and get rid of that tired ass announce team. :camby:
