Shame Bolasie is out. Benik Afobe turn down the national team last minute decided to fight for his place at Bournemouth

If he wanted to prove himself at Bournemouth he'd be better off going to Gabon to smash a couple goals in and win a trophy for us

Guarantee you he wont start at all while this tournament goes on

He was called up (during WC Qualifiers) before Bournemouth won the Liverpool game at home which means he wasn't playing much prior to that game. There was no problem then. Once he played well at the Liverpool game and scored in the next game. He started feeling himself and started to find his form. Some of these players are short-sighted, a tournament like that can also serve as an opportunity for you to advertise your talent and form to other clubs in Europe if your own team is on some BS,

Watch Wilfried Zaha tear the AFCON up for Ivory Coast and I guarantee yyou if he does well he won't be stuck at Crystal Palace in the near future.

Choupo Moting said it was because of the Cameroonian FA. The truth of the matter is all these players are just trying to keep their places in their club team because we all know European managers/teams look down on the AFCON because of he timing of it but these idiots don't know how hot it gets on the continent in the summer months players would dropping like flies on the pitch.
Theyre clowns breh, 99 percent of the time stars show up for AFCON. These dudes were happy to play for Cameroon when they were struggling for new contracts.

Yea you are right I can't respect that and that's what Afobe did to DR Congo once he found his form but if I was the coach and saw that players were not responding to international call-ups for reasons other than injury. I wouldn't call them up when it came time to compete in the World Cup 2018 because these same players would line up to be selected once it is time to go the World Cup.

Cameroon has long been in a meltdown ever since the early 2000s teams with Mboma, Song,Foe etc. Eto beefed a lot with some of them other dudes and I remember he and Alex Song going at it. The Ghanaians' used to have those problems with Europe based players until that 2010 team at AFCON when they left Muntari. By the way Cape Verde's purple patch seems to be over, they had a good run for a small country in the last 2 tournaments.

@thatknickfan I didnt know Senegal had a local coach. French coaches (average ones by the way) have ate well off African nations. I see Claude Le Roy is there, he must have coached more than 6 or 7 teams at the tournament:mjlol:. The Renard dude who coached Zambia and Ivory Coast is well on his way to be the next Troussier and LeRoy being a journeyman coach for African countries.

If Renard takes Morocco to the final or wins it, he's undisputed GOAT AFCON coach. Right now Moroccans are mad at him for dropping Hakim Ziyech, Ajax player who turned down Hollland for Morocco. Then again Zambians used to always complain about Renard till he won.

I still think Shehata has an argument there, i think that moment with Mido in the 2006 tournament was a turning point for the team going forward. He put 4 past Algeria, Ivory Coast and Cameroon during that run. Zambians used to call Renard the PE teacher and i think he actually was a PE guy turned coach. Winning with three different teams with different type of players would put him up there.

John Boye kissing that cash I remember they were about to boycott their last group game and had the Ghana FA flying cold hard cash on a plane from West Africa to Brazil. Unbelievable

He was already at United messing around with Moyes' daughter when Moyes was manager at the time after Fergie. I think he is talented but there is too much inconsistency and his final ball leaves a lot to be desired but he can definitely run at people and take defenders one v. one on the wings. If he scores more goals and puts in good crosses consistently in the box, he can play for a top 4 club in England.
