DMX was never a lyricist. He was a great performer and had some great music. He definitely didn’t have as great of a body of work as PAC though he lived way longer. PAC was definitely a better rapper than X. X ain’t Biggie, Nas or Jay Z. X ain’t even prodigy. X is a Nore level lyricist but definitely had classics.

Meh…I’ll chalk it up to the fact that they both actually knew X and did records together. Ma$e even said he feels X was the better rapper and Pac the better artist. Cam said he witnesed how X had thousands of people hanging on to every word. Pac is my favorite rapper, but I won’t get mad if someone said they might’ve preferred X. I fukks with X too.

Got to disagree with this one ….. first off mase and cam have got that bias with the whole newyork thing (before anyone says yeah pac a newyorker …. Yeah he was born there but he never repped it and to be fair newyork never truly repped pac as there own but that’s another story/debate)….plus they worked with him and on tour so they really got to be around x like they stated …. Second .. both x and pac are in my top 5 dmx really has 1 amazing album the others are decent …. pac put out 3 albums in a row that are stil classsics me against the world , all eyez on me and makaveli …..again both amazing talents but me personally pac has way more better albums overall and way more songs that are just better ….

Then it depends what lyricism means to somebody. On an average day, DMX is better, but when Pac really got down to writing, in my opinion he was better. We can even go track for track on different topics they rapped about be it love songs, introspective things etc to compare their pens

DMX shined most in freestyles and posse cuts when he would spaz the fukk out lyrically. Me and @Cladyclad have said this before, but there's a certain type of MCing that X did that Pac didn't when it came to rapping. X was a battle MC at heart, that showed skill in a different capacity. Even when Pac got lyrical, it wasn't in the same MCing type of way that X did. X was a rappers rapper. All the MCs say the same thing. Even Kane said it on Drink Champs.
