So I'm kinda broke. But I'd like to get in this field for a few reasons. Do they have IT apprenticeships? or something of that nature?

I don't do IT anymore, but in college, I worked an internship on a help desk for a fortune 500 company. that job sucked, but it did get me money, college credit and experience at a young age.

there's plenty of entry level IT jobs. just use those keywords in your job search. try going from there.

Or just watch youtube videos. Apply for every cheap job in IT. Even the ones with fast food salaries. Take 1-3 month contracts. Get in good with recruiters and just grind for a good year. Once you get a feel, then you need to start specializing in your trade.

You can try to get into a sales position at a tech company or small business.
A lot of sales jobs require no experience because the employers provide training. The hours may suck but you will learn a lot of valuable skills and decent pay.

Depends on the market where you are at...
Dallas has a strong IT market...especially low end help desk stuff which is where you would have to start...
Those positions are churn and burn though...which is why they are easy to get...

Yeah. I think I am going to start getting on this VR wave. There are tons of VR jobs opening up down here and there is no real barrier to entry for them since the technology is so new and there doesn't seem to be any sort of VR degree you have to get or VR training you have to get or VR standard you have to meet.
Spending most of my free time learning Unity since it looks like that is the starting point for VR...
Making a lot in my current field but VR seems likes the new tech bubble...it will probably come crashing down at least once before it becomes a mainstay technology discipline...but a lot of people are going to get rich before that bubble burst and I plan on being one of them...
