I do agree with Punk not being the guy. He was a good number 2/3 guy, which was actually better for him. He had the freedom to be the guy he actually is.

BINGO. Absolutely nothing is wrong with being the Macho to Cena's Hogan. I agree 100% that "cool factor" is an important factor in being that guy that's going to be the face of the company, but the problem with Punk was not only that he didn't have the personality to be in the spot, he was a natural heel and 10000x better in that role which traditionally you can't be if you wanna fill that role.

I said the same thing in 3 different ways, but there's no denying that you wouldn't look at someone like him and go "eh you can be a part of the act, a big part, but you are not going to be the main guy carrying the flag." Can you really see Punk doing 300 make a wish appearances? The truth is, Cena raised the bar about what is expected about the main guy.

He left and went to the UFC. He was wrongly treated by their medical staff, don't get me wrong, but looking back I don't think HHH was wrong. I think he was 100% right, and even if they HAD gotten behind him, he was so beat up and negative he would have left anyway.
