If you get a ticket in TN and dont pay it then YES they can request TX to suspend you DL.

This just hapenned to my ex girl. She got a ticket in NC and they suspended her GA license

Oh an even worse story

I remember me and my homeboy moved to NY. He moved to NY and still had an FL license. He went on a road trip and got a ticket in SC with his FL license. He "forgot" to pay the ticket and eventually got an NY license a few months later.
Guess what? SC got his NY license suspended for the ticket he got in SC while driving with his old FL license :laff:

Bottom line is... just pay for your ticket, brehs:yeshrug:

Naw, I will pay it.

But Tennessee have this stupid law where they would suspend your license for not having insurance off the back. The tricky thing is Texas doesn't have this law.

Basically, it would be Tennessee asking Texas to suspend my license for a law that is not in Texas law book.

depends on the state really...the DMV don't play together, so you can get a ticket in VA and dive in MD and DC no problem. I had a forgotten ticket I hadn't paid since 2010 in VA and I drove for 4 years with no problems until I got pulled over in VA and they tried to tow me. Luckily the cop I got was cool and let me ride, but I was lucky i wasn't arrested.

Well it depends: Does your car have TX or TN plates?
  • If you have TN plates then YES they can get TX to suspend your TX license
  • If you have TX plates you shoul d be fine... i think

I have Texas plates :whew:
If you have TX plates and TX license i dont see how they can require you to get an insurance in TN.

Wait, Do you live in TN? Does your TX license have a TN address?

I live in Tennessee, but have a TX license with my Texas (Parents) address.

I even still vote in Texas.

If you are a student in TN with a TX address i dont see why TN is harassing you but then again i dont know all the laws. Just speaking from my own experience

But then again you, by law, must change the address on your DL within 10 days of moving

I have gotten off a couple times by tell the police that I was a student. But today this guy was trying to be a hard ass.

Maybe the judge will do like the other 2 Cops that didn't give me a ticket when I told them.

I was feeling like Ricky Bobby, hit that on the bridge right before you get to New Orleans. I was the zone :ahh:

It cost over $900 to take care of everything including the ticket :mjcry: I was 17 though so lesson learned.

Tennessee has the ability to suspend your "permission" to drive in Tennessee. You can still drive in the other 49 states. If you get caught driving in Tennessee with a valid Texas driver's license, you can get ticketed for driving with a suspended license. If you move to Tennessee and want to get a driver's license, you won't be able to get one. If Texas suspends your driver's license, then you can't drive anywhere in the US.
