This is the Coli, not Boeing, DuPont or Dow. Anyway, your best bet would be through a university, if you haven't graduated, as companies often recruit from universities and send openings to university employees first. If your GPA is above 3 that helps as well. The reality as an engineer is that you have to be open to some level of travel as well.

You need to go to conferences bruh. NSBE national conference is always handing out internships, every student I know that went came back with one. I don't recommend applying online for them unless you know someone at the company. Trust me i'm in the same boat.

Edit: Also try applying to small local engineering firms too. I hear those are a lot more easier to get.

In that case, you're pretty much like any other engineering breh. I'll give you one more that the average engineering breh isn't doing: talk to a professor or someone in your engineering department, especially if you have someone you've developed a relationship with. You'd be surprised at the connections they have.

This guy never lied. I won't say everyone gets an internship there but your chances are pretty decent. Also, if your school offers a lean six sigma greenbelt class, take that and get that certificate. It's starting to become more of a requirement for industrial engineering but it still gives you a decent advantage over others for having one. I know someone that went to NSBE last year [he was mech E] that got an internship with GE just because he was taking the class that semester and could regurgitate all the jargon and mumbo jumbo he had been taught up to that point.

Has any black owned companies ever come through the NSBE in recent years? I get so annoyed when reputable black organizations as prestigious as that have predominantly white companies or white owned companies come to conventions. Call me a hotep but :francis:
