I'm going to get heat for this, but as bad as 2020 was, it was an extremely important year for advancing black peoples interests.2020 was already worse than any year in the 2010s.
2021 not been much better.

We saw Gen Z showing they've got smoke for white supremacy with how they refused to back down even when cops were showing up with full riot gear.
We avoided a second Trump term and civil war. We got the definitive Michael jordan documentary with Kobe's last appearance on camera.
A lot of people got a taste of a living wage from stimulus payments and aren't finna go back to wage slavery. Now you got companies offering sign on bonuses and 15 dollar minimum wage.
Brehs made serious money off cryptocurrency and it seems here to stay like the stock market.
Artificial intelligence is getting way better to the point where things like YouTube and Spotify can more accurately predict shyt you'll like.
Climate change is now basically accepted universally as an issue we cannot ignore.
MRNA technology has made vaccines much safer and is some straight up sci fi shyt that has saved millions of lives and if applied to other disease can save millions more.

They're smarter in some ways since they grew up knowing they could Google whatever shyt they read in the text books and find well researched information that contradicts it. For example a lot of states have text books which are absolute trash at detailing just how bad slavery was and the problems it caused that we still have to live with today. Zoomers know if something sounds like bullshyt, it most likely is and now have the tools to prove it. This generation has a hunger for knowledge and a resistance to orthodoxy that hasn't been around for a long time.
