Can I pull off rocking a bowtie for an interview???

...the reason for a bowtie is that I am trying to have the interviewers see past my rugged looks and see me as an intellectual. I am a well spoken professional and sometimes I feel my "urban" looks overshadows my real character I am trying to relay in my interviews so I figure I would try rocking a bowtie. This is for a video Skype interview with nikkas overseas.

Wear glasses that make you look like a safe person.

Use big words that don't necessarily fit the sentence, watch TI interviews for an excellent example

Well, if you're doing a Skype interview, you only need to dress from the waist up.

This I don't want. I would hate to be viewed as a militant or deviant which is precisely why I shaved off my beard and want to wear a bowtie so I can be viewed as non-threatening to these cacs
