Can I sue for wrongful arrest years ago?

I got thrown in jail for the night over something I didn't do, arrested, humiliated and embarrassed. It was years ago and I never pressed charges but can i do it today?

Unless it left you with emotional trauma that you never got over that you sought treatment for it will most likely be thrown out
