I been streaming football games on the work tablet while I'm at work using work Wifi. Can the IT department see my activities?

I'm watching in incognito mode:jbhmm:

Yes.....one time I forgot to turn off my torrent (I was seeding a fine film from the West Coast Production Genre)....

Network Admin from Central Office:
:stopitslime:
"Nino, what is going on on hostname nino3, there is 2gb of traffic outbound"..

Nino::mjcry: "Sorry, it is updates"
Admin: :stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime::stopitslime:
"Those aren't updates, just unplug the device Nino"

I was really living reckless then as that was a pretty decent IT job lol...

So yes....we can track down, but it depends on what the powers that be want to do about it.

If it is hooked up to KACE or any other asset management system, they can pull reports to see how much time you spend on your applications. So if you are a business admin, then you are supposed to be in 90% excel, access, 10% everything else...but if they see 90% Internet Explorer and 10% excel...well...that isn't good breh....

Most of the time, we don't have the manpower to investigate anyone's device unless they are looking to boot them.....

:francis: If it’s a work tablet then most likely it’s registered to their MDM tool. This can track all of your activities even when you’re not connect to the work Wi-Fi.

Avoid all concerns by using your own device completely separate from work. Most company’s BYOD policies require that you register your personal device with their MDM tool, if you want to access work email and/or applications, vpn, fileshares, etc., on it.
