Network Admin from Central Office:

"Nino, what is going on on hostname nino3, there is 2gb of traffic outbound"..

Nino: "Sorry, it is updates"

"Those aren't updates, just unplug the device Nino"

I was really living reckless then as that was a pretty decent IT job lol...

So yes....we can track down, but it depends on what the powers that be want to do about it.

Maybe from the ip address, if not they can tell you are using a lot of bandwidth

If it's on the work network yes they can. If is work property, more than likely they push their own "Security service" onto it which may include tracking incase of theft and company global policies for their devices which usually includes their proxy or vpn server information which mean even while not connected directly to their wifi, its using the proxy or vpn to transmit data through which is still their network. Basically either way, your data is being transmitted on their network in some fashion and can be monitored.

I am not paranoid about some nerd in IT looking at my history. I never use my work phone during work hours for browsing other things. Can they track your WhatsApp messages though? I thought WhatsApp was encrypted?
