This Latin female at the job called me a mayate. I know a little bit of Spanish but confused on some of the slang. I looked online and found it refers to either a black bug, a term for African Americans or derogatory name for dark skinned blacks. I have a feeling the way she used it was the latter. I didn't want to go to HR, if it wasn't a big deal. If in fact it is derogatory, I'm going to HR. I asked some Latin people at the job but they made it seem like it was nothing. I'm confused?
