Nas and Jay aren't the same kinda lyricist

They're both lyrical just different

Jay is a metaphor, wordplay heavy lyricist
Nas is a multi-syllablic, compound words, inner rhyme, storytelling type lyricist

Both great, but different. Jay is more clever, Nas is more about flipping words

It really is pretty much the same as Big Daddy Kane vs. Rakim argument

yeah like i said jay is not really heavy on complex multisyllable rhyme schemes like nas g rap rakim big l lord finesse big daddy kane p monch etc he is more in the ras kass andre 3000 lupe fiasco gza common sense lane etc.

Proving my point.

nikkaz here dont know how to separate lyricism from some shyt they like vs shyt they dont like. You dont have to be talkin about shyt at all to be doing it lyrically. Its how you write it, the layers to it, the cleverness. Its how you say shyt without even sayin it. naS never approached the level of lyricism Jay has.

"hand around her collar, feedin her cheese/she said the taste of dollars was shytty so I fed her 50's
about his whereabouts I wasnt convinced/i kept feedin her money till her shyt started to make sense" -- Jay

"I ran to houston like a cheetah with thoughts of an assassin" - naS

If you idiots cant see who is an actual lyricist then its more of a statement about you...

the imagery
the storytelling
flipping of the words
the aliteration of p's halfway through the verse
