I ended up with a fukking headache and a half dealing with a private owner with the last whip I bought. Let me know brehs

I dont get the concept of this thread

Why do you think a dealership would reject money for a car?

My friend bought a GT-R cash...

I mean I don't think they'd outright reject it but I heard the IRS or the feds or some shyt get involved when purchases of > $9,999.99 cash are involved. Plus they get more money through financing so maybe they'll try and fukk me if I come thru with cash on deck. I dunno dogg. I'm a female!!

Oh you mean PAPER cash...

First of all, why would you not just write a check? Why walk around with cash like that?

Secondly, if you did walk in with that much cash i'm sure theyd take it but yeah theres a form they have to fill out with 2-3 simple questions.

Unless you cant answer "what do you do for a living", why would you worry about that?

Isnt it the opposite? Dont they prefer you to bring cash? I was tolf once that if you came into the dealership with 15 cash and wanted a 20 car you could get it which makes sense since most people lease the cars and wind up not being able to finish payments. I'd love to buy a brand new car with cash. Thats like a goal of mine.

Wait so when people buy Rolexes and expensive ass purses the IRS comes into play?

What you all are referring to is a mandatory report called a Currency transaction report; it is required when a CASH (PAPER CURRENCY, NOT A CHECK) transaction occours at $10,000.01 or greater. It asks a merchant or bank very simple questions from you, such as your ss#, where do you work, and what do you do.

Thats it.

It goes to the secret service, and or irs, not fbi because they handle countrfeiting and money laundering, respectively.

Unless youre a drug dealer or using counterfeit cash knowingly, there is no fear.

Again though, WHY would you not just write a check?

You're right about all of this, except it goes to FinCEN.

they arent gonna knock any (or much) money off because dealerships make their money on the financing.

If you can find out how much they paid for the car and try and meet them halfway between that and the msrp they might work with you.
