You can, but you'll be standing outside looking stupid because I don't even get up to check if I'm not expecting something.

My mom was doing this regularly for a couple years before I had to tell her to stop. She has always had issues with boundaries, and when my girl moved in, it was, “Oh, I just stopped by to visit.” She lives 25 minutes away.

:unimpressed:

When I told her to ask before “visiting”, she played victim.

I just bushes a chic for showing up to my house unannounced . Yeah she was dropping a gift off for me but it's about the principle. Don't show up without calling or checking in first

Nope. I might need to clean up first :hubie:

I live in an apartment and if I had an unexpected visitor I just wouldn't buzz them into the building.

This is why I like living about an hour and a half away from my mom :obama:

It's the perfect distance. Too far away for her to be popping up unexpectedly, but close enough that I can get there in an hour or two if there's an emergency.

I'd prefer not. its not about the house, its about my time and focus. If its like a family member or a childhood friend I haven't seen in a while, and their in town, I can make exceptions. But sometimes it takes my mind some preparation before being prepared for social activities.
