America is the greatest country in the world if you make more than 500k a year. None of the problems that people live with every day(medical debt, job insecurity, housing insecurity, chronic illness) are anything that you have to deal with if you're rich. People who are living the millionaire lifestyle are also the ones who are designing the policies meant to resolve the issues they have limited experience actually having to live with.

If all news and entertainment organizations had to be employee owned co-ops and if elected officials had to live on the equivalent of welfare and EBT, America would be completely unrecognizable to most of us today. Anxiety, diabetes, various cancers, insomnia, depression, aggressive(the voices the person hears are hostile, and their delusions involve causing harm) schizophrenia are all symptoms of the socioeconomic system designed to give a small minority at the top unlimited comfort. But here's the most blood boiling and depressing fact of all: Even with all that money and power those people are still fukking miserable. They live in fear, they live in discomfort and the only thing they can think to do is continue to keep amassing even more money and even more power to fill the ever widening cavern within them that now exists in place of where a soul would go.

This is a battle that has been raging at this point for thousands of years. People like Jesus show up telling people to be more prosocial and telling them all the money and power in the world will not make them happy. They then murder him publicly for this "crime". If he came back today, I'm willing to bet every last dollar in my bank accounts that they'd call him a fraud, a radical socialist, and try to have him deported straight into Gaza or the west bank to get killed by the Israelis if lawmakers here didn't attempt to kill him themselves. Low key I would love to see the looks on their faces as they realize that he is in fact the real deal and is immortal. It would be probably the most stunning moment of my life to witness the "oh shyt" look on their faces as they realized that they've committed an unforgivable sin and they can't use their money and power to hide from the consequences.

People become ADDICTED to drugs because they are miserable. People who are happy without drugs don't "need" them. Its crazy that I actually have to explain the difference to what I assume is a grown ass man.

Not doing anything is a luxury people won't be able to afford anymore.

Things like the nation of islam and the black panthers emerged from people being tired of being afraid and being told they don't belong in america. They restored a sense of pride, dignity, community, hope and discipline in people who lost all of that. A government act didn't create those things, enough people saying "I can't live like this anymore" and realizing others felt the same in their community is what led to that.

Social media is a kind of social opiate. It allows people to scream into a void and feel like they've done something whilst the world around them continues to decay. When they don't have that digital escapism anymore, that anger, fear, and hopelessness will be fuel for rebuilding these organizations and creating new ones. People tend to forget that the republican party(before it was co-opted by radical white supremacists) was a radical left political party that was CREATED by people. Today the democratic party is basically what the Whig party was in the late 1830s. They wanted to "compromise" on slavery and the people who didn't said fukk all of that and created the republican party. Something similar is going to happen around immigration and the social safety net. The democrats have adopted republican framing on the issue and are drifting further and further to the right and away from their base and the mass of people that actually would vote if someone was serious about providing legislation(like higher minimum wage, universal health care, lower taxes on them and higher taxes on the wealthy, easier path to citizenship, etc.) that will improve their lives dramatically. You might see within the next 16-30 years a new two party system except it won't be republicans and democrats.
