Can somebody be too dependant on God

now i tread lightly saying this because by no means am i saying you shouldnt depend on God but does anybody else feel like some people get so enveloped in dependance that they lose sense of themselves

i know i might not be making sense im trying to find the best way to word this. and for any atheist ready to go in on this thread please see your way out if your gonna try to derail it.

I call em weak minded, simply because they can't do anything without some kind of guidance.

Trying to understand you but my mind is going in to many directions. Too dependent how? Like their asking God to give them a man, when they can easily go out and find one.

Their asking God to change their abusive husband.When in reality they should divorce him.

yes this and among other using God in some ways to run away from their problems. Now i know he can help you get through your problems but sometimes i feel like people never deal with the baggage and walk the path aimlessly. kind of like a coping device not a bad one by any means but you get what im saying

Ok I get you. I guess some people are really brainwashed to the extent that it gets even cultish. In the way that they think. You can try to help them, but you need a lot of patience.

Yes. They are more focused on nuts and berries, unicorns, rainbow and heart than they are making shyt happen for themselves. "Let go and Let God. I HATE THAT PHRASE! Religion is designed to keep poor people poor and dormant.

Just ask the people who don't medicate their children because of religious beliefs and they end up dying, or the people that say God never gives them more than they can handle and end up offing themselves, or the people who say they pray for the strength to remove themselves from harmful situations instead of finding their own inner strength

Yup. I don't know who puts it in their heads but some folks just think if they sit around watching TV and pray a little at night, God's gonna bless them with everything they want. I think this is more of a chick thing.

Girl I know from Oregon is like that. Moved, quit her job, and just prays about making rent. Could care less about keeping an income source. I just don't get it. She's the "other woman" to some married dude so maybe she's making ends off of that. How Christian of her.
