My Pops Forever RIP
Just a continuation of the pussification of 'Merica with the gotdamn illegals, gays, an nerds turning this gotdamn great country into a bunch of fukkin sissies

The thing I find amazing yet disgusting about advanced stat geeks is a lot of them who always yell out this stat or that stat have no clue whatsoever on how to quantify the stat that they throw at you. Per is one of the stupidest stats to me.
PER isn't a bad stat. It just has to be put into context like every other stat. It's an easy stat to manipulate.

That is why what Lebron is doing is amazing.

The nikka will finish shooting in the mid to high 50%.

I am not impressed with nikkaz that need 30 shots to score 30 pts. Their game is unwatchable as fukk.

If Iverson passed it to Matt Geysers or ugleh ass Tyrone Hill a couple times, maybe they give the Lakers a series.
So you don't like Jordan?

And what LeBron is doing isn't amazing. Larry Bird did it regularly as did Adrian Dantley averaging considerably more points than LeBron.

True. I'm looking at the current rankings now an Melo is like 8th while avg the most min per game of all starters in the league yet all stat geeks and some fans like to scream is he's not an efficient player or he's a black hole. He has to do more for his team than anyone in the top 10 per rankings yet there he is. Funny how that's omitted when they shyt on him

This is totally bogus. A guy who makes 10 of 21 shots isn't as good as a guy who shot 2-11 from the floor and 17-24 from the line? Or 5-11 from the floor and 11-11 from the line? It's nonsense. A guy who can't get any points from 3 ft away from the basket is better than someone who can score in a myriad of ways?

:mindblown:I'm not saying that you're paying too much attention to the raw numbers, those statlines you posted are not even comparable because those are just bad shooting nights from probably a superstar who got help by the refs (James Harden,Kevin Durant). I'm talking all things equal.

Let's say you have the 10-21 dude for 21 pts no free throws and the other guy goes for 21 pts 7-14 fg while going 5-5 from the line. Now who would you say was more efficient.:beli:

It's obviously the second dude. The first dude ain't terrible, he might be nice but he had to work harder to score than the first dude who got the same amount of points in 7 fewer shots. That's efficiency breh, how hard you have to work to score. It's not always an indicator of talent tho...., it's more an indicator of the player's effectiveness. :manny:

So wait,

someone has to explain to you guys why it's better to have an efficient player as opposed to an unefficient player :dahell:

Is this a troll thread?

Y'all do realize most of the greats were pretty efficient from the field? That's a BIG reason they were great.

:comeon:Efficiency is a very important teller of how effective a player is without harming the squad.

A player averaging 21 ppg off 21 shots a game is not as efficient as a guy averaging 21 off 11 shots a game, this is basic shyt.

Anybody can put up the numbers if you give them enough shots :beli:
But what if you are efficient and your team still not winning...?

What we need is a stat that actually proves that efficient players are most probably going to win...

So you want an efficient player on a losing team to stop being efficient?

You do realize that basketball is a team sport right?

If an efficient players team is always losing then HE ISN'T THE PROBLEM. His TEAM needs become more efficient.

^^ notice how the most effeciant teams are all around the top of thier conference and have winning records^^^^

Y'all gotta realize this basketball shyt is bigger than Hero ball and the players y'all love to Stan....I blame the NBA for marketing as such though.

This actually doesn't even make sense. How can it be better, or how are you more likely to make your team win if you shoot 15/25 and score 30, then if you go 15/15 and score 30.

While what Lebron is doing is amazing he definitely works to manipulate that shyt. One thing that I complained about him doing for his is avoiding low percentage heaves at the end of the quarter and at times the end of the shot clock. Plenty of times you can tell he's avoiding putting up a shot and trying to set up a pass so that he doesn't hurt his FG%. Him or Wade even basically came out admitting as much. Not having those bad 4-5 looks a came can definitely help in putting up crazy FG% numbers. Regardless 60% is ridiculous.

If the best player is too overly concerned with being efficient and not taking more shots to pass to a less talented player then he is definitely hurting his team. Part of the burden of being a star is taking the tougher shots to bail your team out of bad situations.
