Ah I see

How was it living in Bangui? Did it feel like you were isolated from the rest of the world there?

Didn't feel that way back then, the world was less connected so you didn't really know what you could be isolated from in a sense. Plus as a privileged kid/teenager it was really easy-going, chilling with friends, outside all the time, etc. We still got movies music and sports, and we didn't need that much to be entertained.

you could argue liquid swordz sounds like a lesser version of bloodsport. wouldnt even be surprised if the sample is the same
4th chamber not too diff from the Releast (Alc)/Murda Muzik

Liquid Swords clears bloodsport easily. Bloodsport one of the lesser tracks on Hell on earth imo

LS beats are more gritty and industrial sounding. Hell on Earth is more sinister sounding.

Liquid Swords is a more cohesive album imo

And The Realist was produced by Alchemist not havoc

I love mobb deep and I love havoc's production but it's not as layered or unique as RZA's

Maybe because havoc copied rza and bloodspor came out a year after LS

You know mobb went to rza when they signed to loud and tried to have him produce on the infamous and its HIM who told them ti produce thenselves and create their own sound if they wanna do it for real. Rza was building wu with steve n the office when mobb came in and he schooled them so they didnt repeat mistakes.

Without rza hell on earth : infamous never even exists the way it do. I dont remember if it was p or hav who said it (i think p) but i seen them say it from his own mouth. obviously it shocked me as well.

Hoe in particular is clearly influenced by LS. Wu were much older than mobb and they were close in those days.

This thread actually inspired me to listen to Liquid Swords again during my lunchtime workout :ohlawd:

Cold World :ohlawd:

I read posts about the album being more of a winter album but I actually think about the late summer, that’s probably because that’s when I first heard it

I am comfortable and I love you
Big L - Lifestylez album is also up there as a top 5 most overrated by internet cacs album. Euro cacs on hip hop reddit have re-written history to make people believe this album was more impactful than The Chronic.

The internet would have you believe it's top 10 of all time. I do I enjoy it, but it suffered from being delayed. It sounded like a 93 album being released in 95. There were a few album like that from the time.
