How the hell did the NBA approve of this shyt :dwillhuh:

Went to OKC uncharted area known for Buffalo riding and Tornadoes...

The attendance has been excellent so far because of Durant and Westbrook. With both of them leaving what should the NBA do?

Attendance will still be excellent

Only show in town

Seattle should have built a new arena or renovated the key

Stern have the middle finger to the Pacific Northwest ,Vancouver and Seattle should still have nba teams

Both Bennett and Kaiser are filthy rich with ties to okc team.is going nowhere

I'll always blame :francis: for killing off the Grizzlies in Vancouver.

The NBA wanted what the NFL and MLB got and the city of Seattle had enough of spending like crazy for new stadiums /arenas.

The Thunder will be fine for the simple fact that Clay Bennett is from OKC and the league loves local owners to keep teams. It's why teams like the Bucks and T'Wolves still exist.

The city has their team. They're not entitled to be good. They'll have lean years like any other franchise and we'll see what happens. Do I think OKC is gonna turn into one of these places nobody wants to go to in the future? Not unless they hire incompetent management.

They exist because no matter how bad teams are, they make owners money. Has nothing to do with anything else. The market has dictated what these franchises are actually worth and its significantly more than what any owner ever paid to get it or pays to maintain.

I remember all those empty seats in the Rashard Lewis/Ray Allen/Luke Ridnour years :russell:

but let old Sonic fans tell the story and Key Arena was suddenly always sold out retroactively :childplease:
I've had league pass for years.. The Key was empty as f*ck their last few years in Seattle. They really didn't even come out for Durant and Westbrook's rookie seasons. Plus their owner, Shultz, owned Starbucks Coffee. Billions galore:mindblown: But he sold the team to a guy from OKC thinking he's going to keep the team in Seattle:martin:

Was also the smallest nba arena

Have a 40 year old arena with no new arena on the horizon and expect to stay

Wrong. The Wolves and Bucks were hemorrhaging money til this new TV deal. Ballmer + the TV deal lifted their values. The teams themselves were annually losing money. The reason why Kohl for the longest time didn't sell and why Taylor still hasn't sold is because they don't want the team to relocate.

Thanks will check this out.

Seriously nobody willing will come to OKC unless drafted or traded I mean it's OKC. What will become of the franchise unless they draft talent is the Bucks of the league
You can say this about a lot of teams. At least OKC has weather in their favor

Owning isnt a quick flip. Its similar to owning a home in the aspect of property value fluctuating. Some franchises will always appreciate. Others might not, some might even lose value but I find it difficult to believe that the owners were closing fiscals in the red. Reports of money hemorrhaging is usually referring to profits but even if they really were closing under the over, which is bad....these teams are still valued significantly more than what they invested overall. Floating or even taking hits for a time period is a part of the investment game. They think of that shyt as carrying costs until something comes through like a TV deal, Free Agents or Draft picks. That is what I am talking about.
