Meh. Not really. It's been shown that Latino immigrants in particular increase job competition for black Americans. I'll try to find the articles tomorrow
Ok lets say this is true you still ignored what I said which has noting to do with the bold.

So again no answer? Just deflection?
I know, logically, it makes sense that a bunch of immigrants would throw a monkey wrench in black progress

But lets be 100% honest, how much better were black people even doing (as a whole) before mass migration of people from latin america and Asia and now Africa?

I could see if AA's were killing shyt and then all the brown and yellow folks drove black unemployment up but thats not the case.(at least they are not to blame for that)

hell Many immigrants don't even work at the same places as black people. A lot of em work at mom and pop shops, as do illegals as well :yeshrug:

They also add to the economy and tax base which is great esp considering that White AND black birthrates are going down or remain stagnant.

Somebody gotta pay for our SSI :skip::hubie:

For years, most poultry workers here were Mexican immigrants, including some who were in the country illegally. But last fall, after a tough state law against illegal immigrants took effect, many vanished overnight, rattling the town’s large Hispanic community and leaving the poultry business scrambling to find workers willing to stand for hours in a wet, chilly room, cutting up dead chickens.

“Even someone born and raised in Albertville may not have the necessary skills or be able to pass a background check,” said Frank Singleton, a spokesman for Wayne Farms, which owns the slaughterhouse. The firm held a job fair that attracted about 250 local residents, but few were hired, and some soon quit, daunted by the demanding work. Since the law took effect, he said, “our turnover rate has gone through the roof.”

Sponsors of the law say it has done exactly what they had hoped, driving tens of thousands of illegal immigrants from the state. The U.S. Justice Department has challenged some parts of the law, and President Obama’s announcement Friday of a temporary legal amnesty for more than 1 million young undocumented immigrants nationwide clashes directly with Alabama’s legislation.
..............

Nevertheless, a variety of employers in Alabama said they have not been able to find enough legal residents to replace the seasoned Hispanic field pickers, drywall hangers, landscapers and poultry workers who fled the state. There was an initial rush of job applications, they said, but many new employees quit or were let go.
Alabama law drives out illegal immigrants but also has unexpected consequences

I aint even go into the cultural aspect of it. Most Americans just arent trying to do the shyt that a lot of immigrants do whether its in picking strawberries or all the way to higher education :yeshrug:

One thing I have learned about politics is when people are underappreciated or disenfranchised they tend to get mad at people less powerful than them instead of being angry at these greedy companies for not paying people properly.

Illegal Immigration Hurts African Americans

Illegal immigration is hurting African Americans, according to research by a Vanderbilt professor of law and political science. In Debating Immigration, a book of essays that Carol Swain edited and contributed to, she says African Americans are losing more jobs to illegal immigrants than other racial or ethnic groups; yet, low-income black workers don’t have political input in the debate.

“African Americans have been left devoid of a strong black voice in Congress on a topic that affects them deeply, given their high unemployment rates and historic struggle to get quality housing, health care, education, and other goods and services,” says Swain, citing a study conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center, which found high unemployment rates among African Americans and Hispanics were partly attributed to the large number of low-skilled immigrants in America.

“The greatest competition occurs among people at the margins of society, a multiracial group that includes poorly educated blacks, whites and Hispanics who compete against each other and against new immigrants for low-wage, lowskill jobs.” Swain found that cuts in governmental programs like student loans make it harder for low-income African American students to train for higher-paying jobs.

The Congressional Black Caucus, Swain writes, does not list immigration reform as a legislative priority. Some lawmakers in the CBC have large numbers of Hispanic constituents in their districts, which may lead to a conflict of interest, she says.Unless big changes take place within the CBC, there will be no official black representation on the immigration issue, which she believes is hurting the African American community.

A reasonable, more liberal policy would invalidate this study because these people would no longer be "illegal" meaning they will no longer be depressing wages and taking jobs from low skilled Americans.

Even your own article admits that, education, health, housing, are what's really needed for black folks, which has absolutely nothing to do with immigration.

If cuts to social programs like student loans are what's placing black people in competition with immigrants, wouldn't it make the most sense to fight for those types of programs as opposed to fighting immigrants for scraps?
