People keep saying you could plug any qb into that system and they would put up numbers

What exactly is the system? If it's so successful why don't other teams just copy it?

I don't know all that much about the x's and O's about football so someone school me

We have seen Matt Cassel and now Jimmy Garropollo as starting QB's for the Patriots with much success, people will attribute this to hidden cameras and deflated footballs, but the actual truth is much more daring and sinister and goes beyond normal footballing tactics. You see Matt Cassel, Janeane Garofalo and soon Jacoby Brissett are in fact all TOM BRADY, the below video explains in more detail (actors have been used to protect identities)

He runs a tight ship and is good at evaluating talent, on and off the field with a great attention to detail. From the lowest assistant to the 53rd man on the roster.

"Anyone" can't excel in the patriots system. The key is Beli won't be keeping you on the roster if you can't do what is needed of you.
The Pat's would never find themselves in the situation the Vikings were, because if Shaun Hill was so bad that they were willing to get raped for draft picks to find a competent QB one Teddy Bridgewater went down then Shaun Hill would not have made the roster...for the second year. Colts did the same thing with Jim Sorgi when Peyton went down (they didn't get raped for picks, but they went into panic mode and brought in an old, former mediocre QB instead of relying on their backup to do his job). The Pat's actually evaluate the position to be more than just a clipboard holder.

The Depth in "the system", Beli rather have 4 quarters instead of a whole dollar, meaning give me 4 solid role players I can plug in instead of One superstar, that's why there are so many trade downs in the draft and beloved "overpriced" veterans(in Beli's eyes) getting traded in order to sign cheaper options. That's why the "next man up" motto fit us so well. With that said, it'll be very sad to see Collins/Butler go, I don't see us break up the bank to sign one player.

The Xs & Os are a small part of it. By small, I mean that they could install a new offense & defense and their "system" would still be intact.

It's selectin' talent. It's lettin' talent go at the right time. The preparation. The motivation. The play callin'. The ability to adjust. Everything done from owner down to trainers is part of the system.

And you can't plug ANY QB into their system. You can plug any Patriots QB into the system. That QB would've been selected and coached by Belichick & staff.

It's not somethin' you can copy without bein' a part of the staff. Coachin' trees. Great coaches tend to come up under other great coaches. Bill Walsh might be the best example of this. And you still need good executives/owners.

Brandon Weeden got thrown into a variant of the Patriots system under O'Brien in Houston and he recorded the highest single season completion percentage ever:francis:
