Brandon Weeden got thrown into a variant of the Patriots system under O'Brien in Houston and he recorded the highest single season completion percentage ever:francis:

Brandon. Weeden.

That's a tiny sample. And Ryan Mallet sucked in Houston.

People are using a one game sample size of Garropolo to draw all types of conclusion but a full season is too short:what:

My bad I misinterpreted your post then. Obviously one game out of Jimmy doesn't indicate much.

Everyone excels in the Patriots system.

Literally everyone.
Not just the quarterbacks. But every running back, every tight end. Every wide receiver. Every defensive lineman.

It even overrates their coaches.
Literally no one has ever left New England and been successful. None.

Not Deion Branch.
Not Matt Cassel.
Not Charlie Weiss.
Not Romeo Crennel.
Not Laurence Maroney.
Not BenJarvis Green Ellis.

Nobody.
It's all the system.
And Tom Brady is no exception.

Lmao @ this nonsense

Branch's production did not drop after leaving the Patriots, once you correct for injuries (he didn't play a 16 game season after leaving NE), but his yards/game were consistent in Seattle...50-60 yds/gm. He only came close to 1000 yards once in New England....his last year here.

Cassel had his best year in KC, this fact has been discussed ad nauseam

Weiss and Crennell are still regarded as really good coordinators, even if they didn't make good head coaches. I won't bother digging into proving their capabilities cuz you'll just ignore it like you will the players.

Laurence Maroney never had a 1000 yard season. He wasn't really good. Which is why we parted ways.

Benjarvus' production did not decrease in Cincy. His last two years in NE he had 1008 and 667 yards, in his two years in Cincy he had 1094 and 756 yards

None of those players you mentioned looked like really good players here. Branch is the only one that you could make the argument for. Why no mention of Welker, Woodhead, or Vinateri? Brady is a great player, Gronk is a great player. They'd be great on any competent team.

Furthermore, why no mention of the players like Adailius Thomas who looked great in other systems but were ass in New England, then promptly out of the league?

The 2 tight end set created matchup issues all over the field because they both could catch and had a lil speed for their size.

I'm not the best football X's and O's guy but I do know that Beli will get the best out of his players and change his system based on his personnel and it seems to be damn near perfection regardless of whose on the team.

People keep saying you could plug any qb into that system and they would put up numbers

What exactly is the system? If it's so successful why don't other teams just copy it?

I don't know all that much about the x's and O's about football so someone school me

Its a timed system that relies on everyone being at a certain place at a certain time. Its why gronk/hernandez/welker/edelman etc were all interchangeable. That's why their motto is "do YOUR job" because if everyone pulls their own weight everything will work out for the most part. The ball comes your way then you better catch it.It helps that beli is a great talent evaluation guy and has a proven track record for winning which helps with players buying into the system. Why they can shed huge salary guys and low ball their guys who stay on both sides of the ball.

Other teams use timed systems they just aren't as effective as the patriots. Why we have all these check down receivers leading their teams in receivers leading their team in yards every game. Its how a lot of these scrub QBs look decent. The ravens won the SB and had Flacco looking like Joe Montana with one. When you see a QB get picked off or over throw a ball to somewhere that he doesn't have a receiver in the vicinity because the receiver fell or got jammed up somewhere is a dead giveaway for a timed system and that's the difference between a good QB and a bad QB.A bad QB will still throw that because he's condition to while a good QB will check the other options.

I see everything in this thread but an actual system. When Montana went down, Steve young was the MVP. When Young went down, Steve Bono played like a star. We know that as the west coast offense. Pats?
