The average person really doesn't care if China (or the US) knows what type of videos they like, what their face looks like, what they do and where they go all day, etc.
It's not like China having the info has a direct and noticeable effect on them anyway to be honest.

My middle daughter and all her friends was on it heavy when she was in like 3rd/4th grade.
It used to be something where kids got on there and saw who could perform whatever new song was out the best.
