First I thought he was just an internet sensation, but this weekend, I was in N.O and he was performing across the street from The Hyatt where I was staying. He sold out an Arena with no guests I heard. After the concert I’m chilling at the bar and I just see a mass of people (kids, parents, teens white/black) all wearing green and red bandannas.

The hotel even had a Slime theme with their staff. They had a Slime menu and slime drinks.

Everybody I was with was of a certain age and we were all blown away like :dahell: :ohhh:

You would have thought this nikka was MJ or something.

But the most amazing thing is. all those kids at the hotel were well mannered and polite af. No shenanigans or YN activities.

Young people love him there’s not much more to it than that. Many talk about the emotion and pain in his lyrics…
Bottom line is most people on this site are old enough to have teenage children and no teenagers ever have wanted to listen to the same music as their parents.
This is true. I wasn’t trying to listen to no Al green or Stevie wonder as a kid. I didn’t listen to them until I got older

Ain't YouTube a big part of his branding?
His fanbase was literally too young to have debit / credit cards for streaming subscriptions, so he distributed a majority of his music through YouTube to democratize access to his catalogs.

He’s the biggest rapper on YouTube, bigger numbers than Drake, Kendrick and Cole.
