the guy absolutely sucks ass on defense.
but the kid is still in the league because he gets buckets, plain and simple. his ability to finish around the rim, hit the midrange jumper and even nail three-pointers is skill set that will get you a roster spot. if not for his transgressions with weed he'd probably still be starting for the suns (although they clearly seem to be doing okay without him)
the underlying issue here is he plays for a coach who can't develop young players. in spo's 6 years as coach, what have his young players done?
chalmers has regressed from a solid NBA starter, to decent role player, to a guy who looks like he should be in the NBDL. boneheaded mistake after boneheaded mistake and stupid foul after stupid foul.
cole seems to have already reached his ceiling, guys like jarvis varnado and dexter pittman were wastes of roster spots. he had patrick beverly on the roster and cut him...you think beverly's aggressive defense would be handy against the spurs right now?
had a young wing who showed some promise in terrell harris and had garrett temple, who is managing to stick around in the league.
beasley would get 8-12 minutes a night on the spurs and do quite well, simply because popovich knows how to put his players in the best position to succeed...you prolly wouldnt even notice his shytty defense if he played on san antonio.
I'm a Suns fan and I can tell you he'd already fallen out the rotation BEFORE the weed thin happened. That shyt was like a blessing in disguise.Suns fans were

when that happened because it gave the Suns a reason to cut him.
And him being a good finisher in the lane is a myth like unicorns. He's very average in that regard.
His game is on some very very poor man's Chris Mullin shyt.
He can score, but he drifts outside of the game plan.As I said before, it's like he's out there playing "21" in the middle of a NBA game
Before he played for the Suns, I was intrigued by his "talents".I used to ride for him.."Once he gets in the right system, look out!

"
But after having the chance to watch him play every game, I realized just how bad of a player he was/is
