Can someone explain to me why name dropping is an issue?

For pretty much the whole of Games career dudes have been crying about how he drops too many names in his raps, who the fukk really cares though and why is it a problem?

I never understood why this was a negative thing, to me, from day one it just sounded like something haters have picked up on and wont let go. Like do you dudes sit there and listen to a classic Game track, ill beat and lyrics, and yet everytime he mentions another person you screw up your face in disgust like the just rapped about some gay shyt?

I never understood why this was a bad thing, can someone explain to me their thought process behind this shyt

Also, Game has dissed MANY rappers from many regions, so predictably, their fans turn on him and namedropping is the most convenient cop out.

Because he comes off as a dikkrider. I'd wager to say atleast 20 to 25% of Game lyrics are name dropping, that's not normal.

It's the quantity. It's similar to the situation when someone points something out to you that you never noticed. Once that "glass" is shattered, you cannot un-notice it, so it stands out as a glaring issue/ easy point of contention.

Full Disclosure: I am not a Game fan, streamed the new LP and didn't have a problem with it. Will not ever listen to the LP or Game in the future.

Truthfully, I think someone pointed it out as a joke like "Damn, Game always mentions Pac, Eazy etc." and it snowballed from there. People who dislike Game now use it to clown him. I definitely follow you with the "style" angle. Many rappers mention similar things frequently but Game and name dropping gets blown up every time.

People just need to find a reason to hate on him. He rubs people the wrong way with his antics outside of rapping and these rap fans are salty that Game can out rap 90% of rappers today, including some of their favorite artists.
