Can someone explain why iPhone is deemed worthy over the Galaxy?

I have a Pixel 3 Xl and a XS Max as my daily phones.

Was an android purist for years though.

Once upon a time, androids were slower and less intuitive than Iphones. It's not true anymore but the rep stuck.

Also, it's a status symbol because Androids exists at all price points making it easier for low income people to have a decent smartphone experience, but there is a pay wall to have iOS. So "poor people have androids" became a thing.

Which is funny since most people rent or have their phones on payment plans...

As someone who has had both, it comes down to preference. I like both, and I'm tempted to go back to Android. You just have more freedom with what you can do with your phone. Apple on the other hands curates the experience you have with the iPhone. Which is not a bad thing, and the trade off is that they are pretty reliable. All of the Androids I had all started to slow down and lagged after maybe two years. I got the iPhone 7 Plus when it came out and it's still going strong.

I'm was using the 6 up until recently and it still works perfectly. I only upgraded because it was free. Matter of fact, my 3g still works fine.

A lot of these clowns having an android means you are broke. People will go out of their way to get an iPhone just for the "social status"

Also, there are far too many cheap android phones out there. So people tend to group the cheap android phones along with the top tier phones like the Galaxy line.
