Was the gold worth potentially a career ending injury? In all reality this type of injury should be a career ender. But Kobe's work ethic is so relentless he'll make it back on some level. You didn't see me say that it was all about the stats. I just used the stats to refute that "Kobe saved them" bullshyt. Saying that Kobe stepped up and made most of the plays down the stretch isn't te same as saying that he saved them. It was other cats that were out there having a good game that could've stepped up if Kobe didn't. You Kobe cocksuckers want to paint it like everybody on the team was struggling not being able to do shyt so Kobe had to put the cape on and save the day. Foh.

So instead of going down right before, he might have gone down in the 1st or 2nd round. Kobe is a workout fiend in the offseason so I don't know how much playing in the Olympics truly hurt him if it did anything at all. He's still going to go hard in pickup games.

I think playing the Olympics opens you up for more chance of injury during that timespan, not later on in the year when the NBA season starts.
