I mean, maybe it's trolling (it has to be), idk but i see it often on this forum. Whether it's black dudes lusting after white women just because they're white or black women thinking that the white man is the answer (also being pushed by black male and female entertainers). I Never really experienced it growing up (can't front, i've usually surrounded myself with people who were aware/raised learning about the black struggle) because most of the people that I knew was proud to be whatever race they were. Is this a big joke that I'm not in on? :sadcam:

And it's not limited to blacks (I'm just more interested in blacks because I'm black). You got dudes defending their hoods on here harder than their people :russ:. I also ask because i recently met a dude (not a friend) who does the self hate thing. He's not black but it annoys me because I think, if he feels this way about his people, what is he saying about AAs? :usure:

Well, when a group of people is looked at with disdain by others( people look down at black people all around the world) naturally a portion of that group will develop some type of resentment. Some will develop resentment towards the oppressors, and other will develop resentment towards the thing in which they see as the reason for their condition (their race or ethnicity). Some believe if they were closer to white their life will be easier.

On top of that most of our people don't know a lot about black history besides civil rights movement, and MLK (and most don't even know the true history of that). People don't know the true history of Africa, so their is no pride in our roots.

Also their is not a lot of positive images of black people in the media. We look down at each other. Many African Americans look down on Africans, and vice versa. I know the willie lynch letter is most likely fake, however the theme of it is very real. All of this leads to self hate.

I guess the real question is, how and why is this openly accepted(especially amongst blacks)? I just don't see how a person, who thinks logically, can take or be taken seriously when they don't respect and openly disrespect their history. And i definitely don't understand how blacks from other countries (and blacks here) can't understand that we're in the same struggle. It was pretty sad for me to hear a friend (who I have a ton of respect for) try to tell me there was a difference between Caribbean blacks and AAs. Even tried to separate the Caribbean blacks who've helped the AA struggle here on some "without us" type shyt.

But I still don't get it. I don't think I ever will.

I hear ya. I think its because of the reasons I listed in my last post. Divide and conquer have worked all too well on us.
